About Us

Nurture Educational and Charitable Society is a not-for-profit entity whose idea has been conceived by a group of alumni from Udyogamandal School. The society primarily aims to provide assistance and support in the areas of education, health & well being, academic pursuits and that of socially impactful works carried out by the students, staff members & faculty (present and past) of the school.
 
Udyogamandal School has a glorious past, thanks to the pioneering efforts of its founders to bring high quality education to the state of Kerala, through the ISC board affiliated secondary school syllabus.  However, it has been the  unique delivery model of education that made Udyogamandal School, a name to reckon with.
 A committed faculty, personal attention to its students, focus on overall development besides academics and a very helpful support staff & parents themselves have been the key attributes to its enduring success.  While most schools rewarded conformity and produced generalists, Udyogamandal School with its well-balanced curriculum went on to produce outstanding individuals in every walk and sphere of life.

Nurture Educational and Charitable Society is a step forward to recognise the need of giving back to the community.  There is no better place than start it with the alma mater that instilled the very virtues of nurturing lives for overall development.  The society will bring together all possible resources to find the joy and happiness in giving back to where the founding members started from, thereby contributing to uphold the legacy of this great institution in the times to come.

Our Team

 Nurture is led by its founding leadership team who are also its office bearers. The illustrious members of the school’s ’89 batch had much in common, especially when it came to the subject of giving back to the school and its ecosystem.

Prof (Dr.) Anil R Nair- President

Anil R. Nair is working in the academic field since 2005. He holds a doctorate in Law on ‘Accessing Education: Legal Perspectives’. Belongs to the batch of 1989 (10th std) of Udyogamandal School. Anil R. Nair currently works as a Director at the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Law Reforms (CPSLR), National University of Advanced Legal Studies.

 Mrs. Anna Vargheese- Vice President

A self motivated and driven woman of action, after completing her Masters in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, she spent years making a mark as a counsellor and social worker in her field before pursuing her true passion, guiding and moulding the minds of young children as a teacher. A dedicated and meticulous individual with a positive attitude, Anna is now a happy homemaker.

Mrs. Jayalakshmy Raju- General Secretary

Jaya was a member of the Interact club in school days, and having worked for 11 years in IT, pursuing her passion to work for the welfare of students, she took to volunteering at school where her children studied for conduct of various workshops and programs. (Pack it fine and Save your Spine was one such program). Jaya holds a B. Tech degree in Computer Engineering, continuing with this interest in learning she completed a Cambridge Certificate course in Teaching and Learning as recent as 2016.

Dr. Vidya Menon V S- Joint Secretary

Vidya is a practitioner of homeopathic stream of medicine. She is quite passionate about teaching and learning, especially in a school setting, having worked with Delhi Public School in Riyadh for many years.

CA. Deepa Varghese– Treasurer

Deepa is a practicing chartered accountant and runs her own enterprise specialising in tax advisory, income tax return filing, GST filing and accounting services for corporates and private entities. She is an active member and office bearer of the southern India regional council of ICAI and have been the chairperson as well.

Dr. Jose A.V- Committee Member

Jose is a dental surgeon with more than a decade and half of an established private practice based in Kochi. He is an executive committee member of IDA and involved in its activities, especially the dental awareness programmes. A member of the Cochin Periodontic society, his areas of interest lies in endodontics and cosmetic dentistry.

Adv Lal K Joseph- Committee member

Lal is a practicing lawyer in the High Court of Kerala, Kochi, since 1997. Having joined in one of the prominent legal firms Sheriff Associates LLP since the start of his career, he has worked his way up to be the senior designated parter of the organisation. Lal is passionate about social causes, its systemic reforms and involved in various charitable initiatives for past many year
